New to the Market: Skingestibles

A one day conference was held in London in early November focusing on a new niche market, “skingestibles”, which is skin care you can eat.

Healthy foods which have skin care properties, and food companies are very interested.

Danone is planning to release a new line of cosmetic yogurts in 2007.

The idea is that eating this line of yogurt will detoxify your skin. The line will be called Essensis.

There is no more information currently available on the products or how they will work.

This new market of nutricosmetics is expected to be worth about $1billion globally.

More and more companies will be coming out with cosmetic foods, giving the consumer more options to eat for healthy skin.
